T he insurance company, gap coverage company, and the CU are taking forever to resolve my payout. There’s no problems so far, it’s just taking forever. The $9400 initial insurance payment has been credited, but they credited it separately from my schedule of payments. I have another payment due on the 10th, so I’m going to see if they can help me out. I really think it’ll be done with in the next few weeks, but I’d like to have the cash available instead of making the payment only to get it back when they pay it off.
If they let me skip it ....

I know the feeling. There is a ‘70 Cutlass project on CL right now and it hurts not to go grab it since I love those cars. It’s a bit CP on the price at $2800 but I’m sure he’d get real eventually. https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-oldsmobile-cutlass/6655703751.html

I made the mistake of looking at sub-$1000 cars locally and hoo boy, there’s a lot of stuff. Like an ‘85 Camry that looks in good shape, an old Corolla liftback, and a newer Taurus that is being sold right in my condo complex.

It seems to really be a buyer’s market right now. I just scored a sweet Volvo earlier this week for $750, it’s been over a decade since I’ve seen this many sub-$1k cars in roadworthy shape on the market.

The amount of halfway decent cars in that range are surprising. Sure, most of them need something, but I don't mind fixing something up.
